Mark Wellings

Chairman of the Board, Independent Director

Mark Wellings is a mining professional with over 25 years international experience in both the mining industry and mining finance sector. He served for 18 years at GMP Securities L.P., including as Managing Director/Managing Director of Investment Banking. Mark has worked on some of the Canadian mining industry's largest transactions, both in equity financing and M&A. He has also worked in the mining industry directly with a variety of companies including Derry, Michener, Booth & Wahl Ltd., Arimco N.L., Inco Ltd. and Watts Griffis McOuat Limited, acquiring valuable hands-on experience in exploration, development and production. Mark was one of the founding directors of Adventus and became Chairman of the Board in January 2021.

David Darquea Schettini

Director

David Darquea Schettini is the Chief Financial Officer of Nobis Holdings and an international businessman based in Guayaquil, Ecuador. He has held senior commmercial and strategic roles at various Nobis businesses, with particular focus in Ecuador, Colombia and the United States. Mr. Darquea has previous experience in investment banking, energy and construction industries. He has completed programs in Finance & Administration in Tec de Monterrey (Mexico) Portfolio Specialization from Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles (Spain) and Executive Programs in Wharton School and London School of Economics and Political Science.

Nobis completed its first investment in Adventus in 2019 - its first investment in the metals and mining sector.

Christian Kargl-Simard

Christian Kargl-Simard is a professional engineer with over 15 years of experience in the mining industry, having worked both in technical and finance roles. Prior to starting Adventus, he worked for 10 years in investment banking roles at Raymond James Ltd. and Haywood Securities Inc. During his tenure in investment banking, Christian was involved in financings raising more than $7 billion, and he assisted in completing over 35 M&A transactions with companies such as Fortuna Silver Mines Inc., Altius Minerals Corporation, Arizona Mining Inc., Trevali Mining Corporation, Victoria Gold Corp., Atlantic Gold Corporation and Tahoe Resources Inc. Christian also worked for Dynatec Corporation in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta up to its sale to Sherritt International Corp. in 2007, both in metallurgical engineering and corporate development roles. Christian is an author or co-author of three published technical papers in the field of hydrometallurgy. Christian is a professional engineer (Canada) and has a B.A.Sc. degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of British Columbia.

Barry Murphy

Barry Murphy is a mining professional with over 30 years of experience on copper, gold, and platinum projects on three continents. He has held senior executive positions with Anglo American and Yamana Gold where he led both technical and project development teams. His most recent experience includes the development of open-pit and underground mines in Chile, Peru, Argentina, and Brazil. Prior to these projects, Barry held management positions at engineering and construction services firms Hatch and Murray & Roberts Cementation Limited. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of South Africa. Barry is a registered Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa and a Project Management Professional with the Project Management Institute.

Leif Nilsson

Leif Nilsson is currently CEO and Director of Surge Copper Corp., an exploration and development stage company with copper projects located in British Columbia. Prior to joining Surge Copper, he dedicated 15 years to a career in mining advisory and investment banking for various Canadian and international firms, most recently serving as Senior Vice President at the Australian multinational investment bank Macquarie Capital. He has advised on many high-profile M&A and Canadian capital markets transactions and has built a reputation for excellence and integrity. Leif holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Physics and Exploration Geophysics from the University of Toronto and a Masters in Finance from INSEAD.

Karina Rogers

Karina Rogers has 25 years of experience in the global mining industry and is currently Vice President of Engineering for MineSense, a leading mining innovation company focused on the optimization, design and development of technologies that enable new data fusion opportunities from mine to mill. She has extensive technical, business, strategy and execution experience over her career, including leading Wood’s (formerly AMEC) mining and metals business development activities for North America and heading up their multi-sector Vancouver-based operations for 800 employees. Karina started her career in process engineering, project and estimation roles with Worley (Jacobs, Aker Kvaerner) for projects in Asia-Pacific, North America and South America. She holds a B.A.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of British Columbia and is a licensed Professional Engineer.

Stephen Williams

Stephen Williams is currently Vice President Corporate Development & Investor Relations at Bluestone Resources Inc, a Lundin Group company. He was previously a Director at Canaccord Genuity Corp. in the metals and mining investment banking team. Stephen is a professional engineer by background and worked for Freeport-McMoRan in an operational and process development capacity. He holds a B.A.Sc. in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of British Columbia and an MBA from the W. P. Carey School of Business, Arizona State University.
